About Bertie Brosnan
I am an Irish video producer and author working at the intersection of history, storytelling, and video production. With a background in filmmaking and acting, I use cinematic narrative to explore Ireland’s past with clarity, seriousness, and respect for the sources.
My focus is on the forces that shaped Ireland over time — power, belief, invasion, conflict, and survival. While much of my work has centred on medieval Ireland and figures such as Brian Boru, I have increasingly expanded into later periods of Irish history, examining how these pressures continued to shape identity and memory.
Across documentaries, writing, and digital projects, I combine narrative craft with historical research to make Ireland’s past accessible without oversimplifying it. My historical fiction novella, The Forgotten Prince, is set during the Battle of Clontarf in 1014 and forms part of a wider body of work exploring Irish history, mythology, and folklore.
This site serves as a gateway to my videos, writing, and ongoing projects.
